Macchi, operative division of Sofinter Spa, is a leading company active on
worldwide basis in the engineering and supply of industrial boilers for Oil/Gas & Petrolchemical sectors and heat recovery steam
generators for cogeneration plants (CHP).
Macchi is well positioned and highly reputed on the market and counts among its Customers the most important EPC companies in the world.
Founded as private company in 1958, Macchi became part of Sofinter group in 1997 and had been fully incorporated in
Sofinter Spa as operative division in 2004.
The shareholding structure of Sofinter Spa, controlled by Giampietro Tedeschi, includes the management and
the significant presence of Private Equity Partners and JP Morgan Italian Fund III.
Macchi, through Sofinter Spa, supported by a quite sound financial situation was able to achieve a turnover of
50,000,000 Euro in 2004.
The company headquarters originally in Fagnano Olona, where the workshop is still located, from 2004 moved
to the new engineering center in Gallarate (40 km N.W. of Milan), where 160 people staff
are at work.
Macchi, in line with the internationalisation process pursued by Sofinter Group, in order to increase the competitive factor in all markets and scenarios matching
Customers’ requirements and satisfaction, founded in Romania the company SC Euroboiler SA in 2003.
Euroboiler, with private loading dock on the Danube river, provides the design, the manufacturing of
components and assembly of boilers suitable for via river transportation.
Euroboiler is the second manufacturing entity oriented to increase Macchi manufacturing capabilities and to become the reference point for the surrounding East European market.
